Abbott Rapid Diagnostics’ Infectious Disease goal is to lead in market development and adoption of point of care diagnostics (POC) in our core markets of Infectious Diseases. The move from laboratory-based tests and the associated material and information flows to diagnostics delivered at the point of care requires deep change for many customers. The Clinical Specialist is responsible for supporting the full range of ID portfolio with clinical knowledge that can be used to create new business opportunities for their designated territory of responsibility and in particular new product launches.
What You’ll Do
Working closely with commercial teams and regional management to support the rapid growth of the division in the territory will be critical for the role. The Clinical Specialist will serve as a trusted advisor to the end customers. Primary responsibilities include:
Support the business development of the territory for the full product portfolio including customer presentations and competitor blunting
Establish strategies and tactics that differentiate ARDx products from competitors and further demonstrate the products’ utility in different indications
Build, maintain and expand strong partnerships with target accounts via consultative selling approach to KOLs across all customer segments
Elevate awareness for ARDx ID solutions to increase penetration and expand customer base
Participate in congresses and sales meetings where required
Responsible for assisting with achieving NPI sales target for the region
Organize and manage product evaluations and clinical troubleshooting
Support distribution partners in the sale of products, including training, sales meetings, technical expertise and in-field support
Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and up-to-date market intelligence information (competitive activity, prices, tenders) to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands
University Degree in Life Sciences, either in Medicine, Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory science or related field
At least 3-5 years’ experience in a sales role related to laboratory or medical devices
Familiarity of the healthcare industry and private healthcare providers for the given territory
Fluent in English
Good communication and presentation skills
Self-starter, possesses flexibility and ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment and ambiguous situations
