New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Assistant Manager, Administration and Alumni Affairs, reporting to the Senior Director of Admission Pipeline Programs.
The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and the NYUAD Summer Academy together form the core of NYU Abu Dhabi’s Community Programs, which offer a rigorous educational, cross-cultural, and leadership development experience to outstanding students in the UAE, and equip students from local institutions for admission to the world’s top undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Sheikh Mohamed Scholars Program is open to top students at the three national UAE universities-Zayed University, the United Arab Emirates University, and Higher Colleges of Technology-and provides unique access to specially designed courses, lectures, leadership experiences, networking, and graduate school opportunities and scholarships. The NYUAD Summer Academy is an 18 month program designed to enhance the academic profiles of highly motivated Abu Dhabi-based Emirati high school students by preparing them for entry into top-tier English-language universities.
Work with the Senior Director to draft reports and maintain records related to program activities, reporting requirements and other internal documentation including policies and procedures. This will include developing new surveys and regularly collecting data needed for both reporting needs and regular internal evaluation of programming
Serve as an administrative representative for the programs at NYU Abu Dhabi and external events and meetings
Assist with operations of special program events
Oversee SMSP alumni board activities and meetings and supervise the Program Coordinator responsible for alumni work, including community and media outreach. Develop, in consultation with the alumni board, programming for the alumni network and interested NYU Abu Dhabi employees
Oversee SA alumni programming and facilitate check-ins with SA alumni who are now NYU Abu Dhabi undergraduates
Coordinate with Senior Director to introduce professional development activities to the team at-large. This includes advertising conferences, drafting conference proposals, identifying and circulating best practices literature to the team, etc.
Serve as an Instructor for the SMSP Critical Thinking and Persuasive Writing course
Other duties as requested by the Executive and Senior Directors
Advanced degree (Masters, etc.)
Three-five years working in higher education administration
Excellent English language skills, particularly in writing
Flexibility in working on occasional weekends and late evenings
Supervision of employees
Familiarity with/fluency in Arabic
Comfort with public speaking
